Mysteries of the Nissen hut revealed

In case you have never ventured into the Nissen hut, herewith a quick overview of what you will find there.  Help is always available to move heavy items.

Country Natural – for at least the last two years, we have offered a bargain price of 4 bags for £12 and will continue to do so. If you don’t need/have room for 4 bags, why not join up with your neighbours to take advantage of the offer?

Oaktree Multi-Purpose Compost – before I saw the light (before I joined the CHS), I used to be seduced by cheap garden centre compost offers, only to find the contents were rather nasty: black, dense and sticky.  This is a wonderful light compost which we use in the greenhouse all the time. We offer it in 20l bags at £1.50 or in 40l bags at £3.00, which suits those of us who have to carry the bags through the house and have limited storage room

Oaktree Horse Manure – a great favourite and runs Country Natural a close run race in the favourite stakes

Oaktree Ericaceous – now in 75l bags as they no longer produce the 25l bags, so you may need help to move this. In desperation, I have been known to rebag it into old 20l bags on the pavement outside my house to make it easier to manage.

Oaktree Seed and Potting compost which comes in convenient 20l bags at £1.50 and does what it says on the tin.

and finally

Oaktree Somerset Top Soil

We also always keep a few bags of John Innes No 2 and No 3 – the latter recommended if you have plants/shrubs that stay in their pots year in year out

The Nissen Hut is also the source of black ground cover in both 1m and 2m widths; black netting; horticultural fleece and enviromesh – all sold by the metre so no wastage

In season we sell 4’, 6’ and 8’ canes as well as stakes.
