For once the sun shone for us and a goodly gathering of about 40 CHAS members met at the Trading Hut to enjoy the annual Summer Barbecue. Alastair & Andrew took charge of cooking salmon/chicken as well as the more traditional sausages and burgers. On a hot day, this felt like a job over and beyond the call of duty. We all enjoyed the delicious salads provided by Catherine, Sue, Sandy, Jenny and Aileen as well as some unexpected goodies from the German Bakery.
Wines of various colours were available but elderflower and rose proved winners on such a warm day. A polypin of London Pride was kindly provided by Fullers, our local Brewers, and was much enjoyed by enthusiasts
Quite a few members then continued to Park Road to view Richard Treganowan’s amazing exotic garden and the contrasting garden at number 36.
