The Chiswick Horticultural & Allotments Society (“CHAS”) has donated a new Sensory Herb Garden for Chiswick School in a quiet corner of the grounds.
The Sensory Herb Garden has a variety of fragrant plants including Mint, Lavender, Lemon Balm and Rosemary.
The garden was created by Chiswick School’s Sixth Form Enrichment Officer, Sue Gewanter, who is also a member of the CHAS Catering Team, with the financial support of CHAS, which supplied all the plants and compost needed for the project.
Reflecting on the success of the garden, Sue Gewanter said, “I wanted to create a quiet place for the students’ wellbeing and thought a sensory herb garden would be ideal.
“It’s a great delight to see the look on the students’ faces when I show them how to rub the leaves to get the scent of the herbs. Everyone at Chiswick School is grateful for the support of the Chiswick Horticultural & Allotments Society who made this project possible.”
