Overheard at the Summer Show; “One of the best in living memory”, “Now I know where the phrase good show comes from”. Warm remarks fed by the efforts of the many volunteers, be it Satcha the Sardinian, for sweeping and tidying, Martin, Christine and Caroline for digging the Show out of a hole by volunteering to be judges at a late stage and host of golden others assisting and serving in the crowds.
Rick Stein was the same amiable character we see on the screen, making himself available to all and adding stardust to the presentation. Indeed the allotments played a bit part in his move to Chiswick, so impressed was he by the neat rows of plots he passed on one of his morning strolls when reconnoitring Chiswick.
Needless to say him and his wife paid particular attention to the produce, prompting him to say “lets talk business”
