Staveley Road Closure – Commencing the 24th January 2022

Staveley Road Closure – Commencing the 24th January 2022

The Council have updated their website https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/info/20053/transport/2171/hounslows_streetspace/12 to enable Staveley Road and Burial Ground allotment holders to apply for a permit to drive along Staveley Road.

The entitlement is for

Those connected with Chiswick Horticultural and Allotment Society (CHAS) – such as tenants of either Staveley Road or Burial Ground allotments; Member of CHAS; official allotment sharers

You will need to provide your name and vehicle registration number.

Proof of connection to CHAS, such as: Copies of an allotment invoice / Allotment agreement / Proof of membership of CHAS

And

Vehicle Registration Document for each vehicle registered.

It is a complicated process which will involve you scanning or photographing your documents and uploading them to the form.

Lampton360 have still not sent out the invoices for 2021/22 so I am not sure if the invoice for 2020/21 will suffice.

For proof of membership of CHAS you will need your 2022 membership card.

I am sure that providing the necessary proof may be difficult for those who do not have the facilities or knowledge on how to upload their documents, but the Council will not make it any easier.

The Trading centre will be open on Sunday 16th January 2022 to give any assistance and advice.

      Hello Lee,
As far as I am aware you cannot purchase permits to access Staveley Road. The link in the original post gives the details of residents who can apply for a permit.

I see that we, the tenants of the Dukes Meadows allotments are not exempt. Possibly we can join as members of CHAS, but is this exempion valid for through transit in the segment between Burlington Lane and the A316 or it is only meant for people that finish (or star) their journey there?

      Hello Mr Fernandez,

Any current CHAS member can apply for a permit to transition Staveley Road. You will ne to upload your membership card and car registration document.

      Regards
      Dennis

  2. I agree that the application form has no ‘allotment ‘ box to tick so the form cannot be processed
But many thanks for persevering and getting the allotments at least recognised by LBH.
Lets hope they update the application form more speedily than the issue of invoices!

  3. Dennis.
Thank you for the info and link to the LBH website. Whereas the LBH FAQ has been updated to include Staverley Road Allotment holders – the online form has not . i.e we are not included as among the categories that applicants must tick. Sigh.
Has anyone managed to register yet?

  4. Thanks to our Chairman Dennis Flaherty, Trading Coordinator Jill Morris and the rest of the team for their diligence and perseverance; tirelessly representing CHAS and allotment holders to ensure unfettered access to the allotment sites.
